“AYURVEDA IS ABOUT THE DELICATE HARMONY OF OUR MIND, BODY AND SPIRIT, AND TUNING INTO THE NATURAL EBB AND FLOW OF NATURE AND OF OUR OWN TRUE NATURE — SOMETHING WE COULD ALL DO WITH A BIT MORE OF IN THIS WORLD OF FAST-MOVING TECHNOLOGY!” – JASMINE HEMSLEY
Our next block explores the beautfiul, holistic world of Ayurveda and the Doshas. Over the next four weeks we will dip our toes into this beautiful ancient Indian art forging a healthy and luminous life.
One of the main principles of Ayurveda is cultivating and maintaining harmony between our body, mind and spirit and is grounded in the belief that each of us is born with a distinct Dosha/body (‘body’ which encompasses body, mind, soul) which in turn has individual needs.
Our Doshas (Kapha, Pitta or Vatta) encompass everything that we are ~ our preferences, personality, build, emotional and physical traits, and can be bought into balance and on the reverse obviously imbalance, through diet, lifestyle, how we move, the seasons, our age and stage of life and how we live. Each week we will explore one of the doshas and how it relates to you.
Before we begin, you may like to read a blog post I previously wrote about Ayurveda and the Doshas here. There is a quiz you can take to help you determine your Dosha there too.
I am so looking forward to this series and can not wait to share the practices with you for balance, vitality and wellbeing.
