FLOW INTO SPRING

Saturday 3rd April | 9.30am-11am online (£12)

There is no denying that for many of us, this winter has been harder than most — we've been separated from loved ones, cocooned in our homes, pulled into a slower pace but one perhaps laced with anxiety and uncertainty.

Finally we are beginning to emerge out of this period and step into a new season. As the stillness and inert nature of winter begins to yield, giving way to the vibrancy and dynamism of Spring, we can start to see and feel how we are a mirror of Mother Earth. Seeds that were planted and previously hidden, are now able to push forth through the earth, towards the warmth and energy of the sun.

Spring holds the possibility of transformation and manifestation. During the introspection of Winter, we are gifted with a beautiful opportunity to withdraw and look within and seek out what no longer serves us. With trust, grace and acceptance we let it fall away. Now we begin again. There is re-birth, expansion, growth and vibrancy.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, each of the seasons is closely associated with one of the fives elements in nature. Springtime is coupled with the element of Wood. Having been nourished and nurtured by Water over the Winter, Wood now emerges in Spring where it can flourish and grow.  This element is associated with vision, imagination, forgiveness and benevolence. Wood encourages us to stand tall in the present whilst being well rooted in the past and staying open to the future.

Join me for an extended 90 minute practice to move in reverence with Spring's beautiful gift of light and possibility. There will be 60 minute dynamic flow representing the increasing yang of Spring followed by a fortifying restorative and yin sequence. We will burn away the lethargy and despondency that many of us have carried like a heavy cloak the last few months. Now, we will be moving towards the sun, pushing forth with a renewed sense of optimism and lightness.

Maybe you have seeds you wish to see bloom, maybe it is enough just just be moving forwards. Whatever hopes you have for Spring, I so look forward to practising with you.

A recording will also be available to all who book on with link valid for 5 days from the class.
